This is my first post and well this form is by far the best I have found. I bought my 2nd bmw two weeks ago. I bought a 1996 325 IS. Ahh I love it. Monday it started overheating, so I brought it back to the dealer. They had the thermostat and waterpump replaced. It was good for about 2 days, then it started overheating AGAIN!! :guns . So I brought it back and had the radiator, fan clutch and acc diode replaced. STILL overheating. Out on a whim, I replaced the radiator cap. HOLY crap it fixed the problem.
Moral of the story:
If your car is overheating, be sure to:
Replace the radiator cap!
and be sure you have no air in the system.

P.S
Our cooling system remains at about 30 pounds of pressure thats a lot considering my Honda is at about 13.
