i have a black 318i and i just put on some shadow grills and i have been looking into getting new headlight assemblies as well as corner lights, sides, etc for some time now. I have seen both black housing headlights and chrome housing ones and i was wondering if anyone had pictures of any black e36 bmws with either of them? or if anyone could give me some opinions on which they think would look better?

the chrome is non OEM and Im always one who prefers OEM look if not OEM product. To me, the chrome housings make the car look like an audi. Plus, the rings in the hella chrome housing are very small. I'll dig up some pics or photoshop something in a minute.

I looked but couldnt find any black ones with the chrome, so I made this. The ones with black housings basically look the same as stock unless you get very close.

El Presidente thanks for the photoshop pictures looks almost real, definitly gives me a good idea of how chrome ones would look. I also agree with you the rings in the hella lights suck
