I originally owned a 97 318is and loved it but it got totaled. I installed a ksport coilover suspension and it was fantastic so I'll be putting it on the next e36 I get. I'm relatively new to BMWs. I want to get a 6 cylinder. I'm not really a racer but I like going fast. I'm kind of mechanically inclined but I do have the service manual that was posted. I've never done anything more complicated than the suspension. I found 2 98 323is ($5500) that look like they're in mint condition a 96 328is ($6000) and 92 325is and a 93 325is (Both $3800) with an LSD. I was just wondering what you guys thought was my best bet for less maintence, the best value and which one you would get? I plan on doing mostly cosmetic changes (wheels, lights, rear lip, front lip and maybe an LSD)

Thanks for the response man. Your the first person to give me an opinion. I was defintely thinking the 93 325is cause it seems like good price. The guy said it already had the Mtech suspension on it too but i guess that doesnt really matter since i have my coilovers. I've ruled out the 328is just because i have passengers in my car all the time but the others I'm still considering. Going on a long road trip today to look at all but the 328 instead im checking out a 323is but with only 81k on it Black with grey leather (my favorite combo).

Ya depending on what you are looking for, the 323 might be a better choice.
If you're not gonna mod it up a whole lot and just want a daily driver the 323 would probably have less miles and is obviously newer.
