Hi i'm a new member, have purchased a 1997 323I E36,love it,got it off a friend of mine,i'm the third owner so it is in showroom condition, looks and drives so well, have never realy been a car lover as such, they are a means of transportfor me,not any more,in my 60s and have never had anything so beautifull, just love sitting in it,due for a service, have booked it into a ABS service centre, they use and recommend Castrol Magnatec for the oil change,I was worried that this is ok any suggestions would be more than welcome, thanks.Terryell
Oil is like women, everyone has there own preference, LOL. A good grade of synthetic is preferred by many. Castrol is a good oil, I'm assuming Magnatec is a euro version of Syntec which is what I usually use and 10w40 is good in most climates, even in the cold.

Thanks Jmo69 and Brettski,ABS did the service and told me all is good with the car,a very nice car well maintained, they used Magnatec Pro 15w/40,so I guess they know their job,I shall put up some pics soon, still at the one finger stage with the computer,JM have no idea what all that means on your car, but sure sounds impressive.
10W-40, fully sintetic by all means.
