oil change odometer, How to reset

How do I reset the oil change odometer in my 1999 323i?

hi and welcome to BMW-fourms. as for your reset problems , take a read through the FAQ forum. there is like 3 different ways to reset your service indicator or (SI)

Tried the one about holding in the left button and then turning the key to accessary until it reads reset but it comes up test_1 and does not reset the oil milage. Any other ideas? Thanks

what year is your car? - and what kind; theres a write up in the faq forum about jumping pins together with a paperclip - takes about 20 seconds and it works...http://www.bmw-forums.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=200

It is a 1999 323i. Jumping the pins only resets the lights right? Useing pins 7 and 19. Pin 19 as the ground. On the later models the oil odometer counts down from 15000 miles and then starts to go into negative miles. Just can't figure out how to reset this part of it.
