Oil

Ok. I poke around at my car alot. So I was under the hood this time checking coolant levels as I just replaced the cooling system. I noticed next to the oil fill cap that there was some oil sitting next to it on the engine cover.

is this a problem or just some spill over from spirited driving or should there be more than jus the square cap on top my oil fill hole?

was the oil runny or stale?

um. define runny and stale?

it was brown. and um. sticky... looked farirly recent. was on the road for 4 hours (not constant but damn near) yesterday with some good curves on the 5 as in (I5) in southern Oregon....

Check the seal on the cap it might be leaking under pressure. Or it could just be left over from the last oil change.

doubt it was left over from change.

will check cap tomorrow. if bad order from bav auto... it wasn't much oil..

could be the seal that is gone, not unheard of but definately not common, check tommorow and see if you have any more.

p.s- runny as in recent stale as in its been there for a while, like a week or so.
