Oem M3 Exhaust?

Just wondering if the OEM m3 exhaust gave any performance gain if it replaced a stock exhaust.

I really don't like the sounds of the aftermarket exhausts, but the OEM M3 exhausts sound perfect...plus you can get them for cheap on ebay used.

don't say search, the retarded search engine doesn't let me type in anything less than 4 letters in the search string, so I can't use M3 or OEM...I got three letters for the search engine: POS.

as for performance were talking like maybe 3hp or a bit more, nothing substantial. sound wise its a little different than stock exhaust. hard to explain but its a decent upgrade for those who dont want a big sound difference.

I got an M3 exhaust for my 96 328. The shop that did it for me said that it would maybe give me +5hp but the torque would be more noticeable. After the install the perfomance gain was marginal. But the sound is great (not to loud). The best thing for me was that when I turned my AC on the ride was so much smoother.

I noticed some more power and better throttle response. The power addition you will get with the m3 exhaust is the same as any aftermarket unit, but the difference is that the M3 unit weighs a bit more. You can find an M3 exhaust on ebay at good prices.

yeah that is what it is exactly... an upgrade for people that dont want the loud aftermarket exhuast.... it wont give you as much hp as say a nice aa tuning intake
