Odometer Issues

I discovered that my odometer isn't working. I've got a 1990 325i. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there an easy (i.e. cheap) fix for it?

The plastic gears will have deteriorated. You'll need a new speedo/odo combo.

Thanks for the info! Do you know if the speedometer can be replaced by itself or do I have to replace the entire instrument cluster?
