OBD1 conversion ?

Heey guys this should some old news for some of you but I realy need some advice on this one.

Oke here it goes...


What do I need for OBD1 conversion ?
Is it just the inletmanifold?? or do I also need software?

If it is just the manifold (I'm not looking for big power add but for more throttle response) that would be great.

This is a great mod. The OBDII-OBDI includes a complete intake/engine management change.
The box and intake are from the '92-'95 cars and are bigger than what would
normally be on the 2.8. this includes the air flow meter, wiring harness, dme,
etc.
Mine was performed by Zionsville Autosport, they are very knowledgable people and have the entire kit ready to go.{HERE}

Once performed you can reinstall your cone filter, but the kit you pay for includes a new airbox. Not sure how much better the cone filter would be.

Once performed, you can have software designed for the new conversion, and together this mod can give you gains of over 50hp!!!

BTW, nice engine shot! Oh, and if you just want increased throttle response, it can be done cheaper with this.{HERE}

first check into your states laws before doing anything. because in some states you cant mod the obd of the stock car. because it wont pass emissions.

Performing such a conversion will not effect the emissions. All this is essentially, is reverting a later model e36's induction system back to the older style induction. The newer system is much more restrictive, and once converted you have the best of both worlds.

but when they do emission checks. it will be different. correct? which means its not a car that would pass.

You mean different than if it were origional? Of course, but it is still way within the limits. It's not like they have a chart of what the 1996 328is output should be. Your car must merely be such that it doesnt exceed a certain limit. :wink

The genious governor of my state did away with car inspections a few years ago. Not just emissions, inspections period.

Now there are so many pieices of shit driving around that pose a hazard to so many other cars...god I hate him. He also denied aid to some towns after a tornado leveled them because they classified the damage as "an act of god" and he said "my god wouldn't do such a thing."

This is one more reason why I am not a huge fan of politics. I feel obligated to gain a firm understanding of what is going on, but I cannot get excited about any one party or individual due to the fact that it seems most every guy out their is a FREAKIN MORON!
