I currently have the 11 button OBC and a lot of the LED's are going bad. Is it possible to buy an 18 button OBC and just plug it in? or will my car only work with an 11 button? Thanks in advance.

I tired to do a search but it won't seach OBC beacause it has too few letters.

thanks Furious. I just found a good website http://www.geocities.com/e36rulz/OBCconversion.html

It looks like a lot of work. Anyone actually ever done this? How did it go?

Dont bother with the conversion.
You can simply take apart the computer and replace the bulbs in it.

It's not the backlights that are messed up, all 4 back lights work perfectly. It is the actual LED's inside the OBC that are blown. They are blown in sets of 3 LEDs lined up vertically. The only way to replace this is get a new OBC.
