OBC Conversion Troubles

OK, I have swapped out the 11 button OBC and installed a 18 Button. The ext temp works but the speed, consum, dist. functions all don't work. I know this is because of the speed input.
I have the wht/gry wire from x1071 pin 9 going to the x17 blue connector pin 10 as per the retrofit diagrams I have found on the internet. This should be my speed output (x17), but I have nothing working. The wiring diagrams I have found (I own a repair shop, and subscribe to several online manuals) says that the speed output on the instrument panel is X17 pin 2, which I have tried also but still doesn't work. I have tried 2 different 18 button displays with the same results. So I am pretty sure it isn't a bad unit.

The other issue I have is to get the check function working, I have tried several different mode 11 combinations (einheit 1 / 2). Is there any good way of finding the correct codes for your particular car? If you enter you vin on realoem.com it shows my car as production code CD33, which I have tried in the einheit settings. The only thing I can get is with some settings pushing the check button will make the entire display light up.

Please excuse my previous message as apparently I am losing my mind. I have checked the wiring again, and the wire I was refering to in pin 10 of X17 is for the fuel gauge, which is working. The wire from pin 2 of x17 is the speedo output and it is connected to the pin 13 of the X1070. I tested this wire and it is producing an ac voltage that increases with speed. So it appears that I have 2 faulty OBC's. Unless someone else has a different conclusion for me.
I do however still need some info on the einheit settings.
