same thing happened to my wife's VW. Ran well, got awful gas mileage. We took it to the dealer since it was under warranty. They replaced the front o2 sensor. Still runs well, and gets great mileage. They said the ECU could have codes and sometimes it doesn't light the "check engine" light. Still can read with a scanner.

When was the last time you had your car smogged? That's how I knew. I can't remember exactly what it was... but some part of the emissions summary had a pretty high level of unburned gas.
why don't u explain what it means.. so i can have a better understanding of what it is... i mean, maybe i have.. maybe i havn't... but i just don't know the termonology smogging

Oh, ok. Well, when you take your car in to get it smogged... They put it on a treadmil for cars called a dynamometer, to simulate driving, and then test the levels of certain emissions. If the emissions surpass your state's regulations, you have to fix it so it can pass or you can't register the car...
