now the top wont come up

well first the top would come up on its own
tonight I went to put it down and it got stuck on the deck lid and heard what sounded like a gear slipping well i let it cool off and well me too then went back and manageged to get it open with the red indicator light blinking and now its still blinkning and it wont come up maybe it will tomorrow but I am afraid ai am going to have to go to the dealer to get this fixed I know I can probably emergancy manualy close it so any iseas would help

I am in the San Diego area does any one know a BMW top GURU some one that really knows his stuff rather pay a good mechanic than the dealer

new status on my top

well I took it to the dealer and he says for 128 diagnosas fee that the deck lid motor transmission is broken and he can replace it for $762 the part alone is 458 from them so I will look this weekend to see if I can do it or not if not I am going to have to wait but at least the top is up and safe and I can drive
