You are going to have to be more specific about what you want to know. A VANOS engine is going to have the variable cam position unit, non-VANOS will obviously not have that. The early non-VANOS and VANOS M50's made the same peak HP but the VANOS engines had a flatter power band because they could vary the cam position to make the power come on sooner.
