noises from front of car

hi all ,wondering if you could help with a prob i got with my car,94 318is coupe.

have had the car for a couple of months now and had a kind off rattling noise every time i go over bumps in the road,kind of metalic noise,took the car to local garage who put the car on the ramps and checked all the mounts and bushes and found nothing.

couple of days ago took it back and removed the front wheel and found that when you pushed the strut the piston in the shock was hitting it.

so booked the car in and went to europarts and accuired 2 new front sachs struts(gas)had them fitted and the noise is still there,have just spent the best part of £180 buying and have them fitted and its driving me up the wall,the noise is deffo coming from the front wheels.

any help grateful

check the wheel bearings...big possibility...

wheel bearings have been checked and would the bearings not be noisey and constant kinda whining noise? thanks for your reply

Long shot, but are the pads rattling around in the caliper?

was told today thats its more than likey the tie bars,just spent all that money for nothing,garages are the vain of my life lol
