Hi!
I had an engine change in my e36 325i manual '92, the last one died from 2 fist size holes punched through the block by a cracked conrod..
A backyard mechanic (reccomended to me by a family member..) done the change, and gave my car back with no fuel/odometer/speedometer/tachimeter/temperature gauges working..he told me it was already like that when he got the car, its my word agains his etc.
I know they worked 5 minutes before the car was brought into his garage, so i'm sure it had to do with the engine change.
Checked all the plugs from the engine harness..seem to be in place.
BMW told me the cluster does not need recoding for the new engine, fuses seem ok..the mechanic was clumsy, could it be a grounding wire? if so..where? pls...any suggestions! I've been trying to find the fault for the past 3 months!!! Thankyou everybody!!!!!
