I have a 94, 325i

I was driving along when my car felt like it ran out of gas. I thought it was my fuel filter. I replaced it and the dame thing still wont fire up. It just wont turn over. So I checked the fuel pump and it works fine. Any suggestions? I cant afford to take into evil car shops
