i have notice quite a good number of bimmers sporting their favorite decals or the proud(of course) bmw emblem for their front plate light. i am quite sure a lot of us here do.
question is: is this legal? and has anyone been stopped and ticketed for it?

but i live in Arizona
when you registered your vehicles, were you given two plates each?
I live in Wisconsin and it's illegal here but my dad has a classic convertible without a front plate and has never been stopped. Also I know a kid with a purple civic with no front plate, he's been driving for about 3 years without it and never gotten talked to by a cop for it.

it all depends on what state you live in, cause some states require a front license plate, and some don't.
ps. i've got the lovely bimmer emblem where my front plate is suppose to be

all depends on the state...I know in NY and NJ you need one in the front and back...PA you only need it in the back...call your local DMV or look online to find out for your state

in canada its not permitted to have the front one off. personally i think its even illegal to have a german plate on the front of our cars. but im still gonna do it.
I have the BMW emblem on my front plate bracket and have never been stopped. The ticket, assuming you ever get one, is only 10 bucks, so it's not that bad.
In MD its illegal and my friend got pulled over by a cop driving to school... The cop saw him driving by and slammed on his brakes and spun around in the road to go catch him. 50 dollar fine, cop must not have had anything better to do.
