nitrous on an m3? - BMW Forum

i just bought a 95 m3 , i made a exhaust for it myself, and im gonna be ordering an intake for it, i just want a daily driver with some decent power, i was going to put a 50 shot of nitrous on it since i have a kit laying around, is that safe for these motors? im new to the bmw world so im just curious any help is appreciated

If done properly yes, a 50 shot is ok. is it wet or dry?

should i upgrade the fuel system, or have it tuned or anything of the sort? or will a 50 be small enoug that the stock fuel system is efficient enough? if it does need tuned, any suggestions on what system to use?

... Might i ask where you are located? In the US Nitrous Oxide is Illegal and can result in tow and impound for 28 days just like racing...

i am located in the US and only if you are using the nitrous can you be impounded, there is people every where with nitrous in there cars, and police, especially in PA aren't to concerned with what illegal things your car has, for instance where we have our meets, the cops will actually stop look at all our cars and compliment us, so back to the issue of fuel and tunning anyone any suggestions?

I have a 125 shot on my 95 525i it has the m50 motor in it all that was needed was stainless steel headers and a cold air intake. If you don't up the intake and exhaust I would only go 70 shot if you use the nitrous at the right time in the right rpm (after 2500 rpm) it is a simple upgrade and if your motor breaks from it then it was probably gonna break anyway. My car has 250,000 miles on it and still runs perfect. look for the link (nitrous on my e34) in the 5 series form I have picks on that post of the setup and a brief install overview.
