why not? You get a lot horsepower for not much money. To get the same horsepower as with nos will cost you 5-10x more. Plus engine with lot's of modifications will be not drivable in the street, very bad fuel economy, etc.

Ok ill try and not be mean....
NOS IS THE WORST THING you could do to your engine....
DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER IT
unless you are drag racing proffesionally
or own a garage.

bmw's are NOT for drag racing... they have low - low end torque.... they were designed for the autobahn and for high speed acceleration/handling
nos will indeed get you HP numbers.... but your engine is not even close to ready for it... that will cost LOTS more than just the initial kit...

Would it also be fun to push a button and have a cylinder fly out the head of your motor?
Q: Can I simply bolt a N20 kit onto my stock engine?
A: Yes. Provided its fit, healthy and one or two simple precautions are observed then no problem In fact Stock engines are often best!
provided it's fit, healthy, and one or two .. blah blah blah. basicly hes saying you need to reinforce your pistons and driveshaft. i've heard of nos stripping gears too. THAT'D BE SUPER-DUPER FUN.

imo - it should only be used after you've already done everything you can do to improve your engine, or as skawful said, if you race professionally.
Ok, Seriously its really get anoying when someone is saying 'ricer' this 'ricer' that. Why cant people shut up about it ... and respect what people do to there car, not everyone can put cams/exhaust/intake/software in there car. I dont like the idea of putting huge bodykits on cheap cars ( not talking about bimmer ), ( i too call them a fart cannon rice feeders. But there are other people that like that fashion and you should have respect for it where you like it or not. I know plenty of people in clubs that have bimmers that also have NOS. IMO I think its pussy juice but thats me. ( Im not saying you dont have a right to your own opinion on things, and call it simply 'As white as rice can get' but dont say 'Ricers arent welcome here, we dont like them' ). Errrrrr 2 cents... ghead ghead ghead
