Im new to the site, looking around at the 97-98 328's and I see a lot of Rieger kits, etc... can someone point me to the best place to look at the different kits, or body styling's for e36's?
Right now, I have a 99 Civic Si.
But I am in the process of getting a bmw, how long do the engine's last in these cars? I prefer a 5 speed, any other issues well known with the cars? How many miles would be too many when buying? Whats the goal miles? Where are some good sites for engine swaps, etc..?
Basically, Im new to the game, would like to look around and need some guidance.
comon now ///M-P3NgUiN, its not that he drives a riced out minivan.
Im not a fan of ricey cars, but i must admit, your Si is not rice. Good work on keepin it clean.
Umm, the engines have the potential to last along time, you just need to maintain it. I think you should look for something lower than 100,000 miles on the clock. Good that you are looking for a 5 speed, BMW autos and BMW manuals are like night and day.
I would suggest going to www.bavauto.com to look for different body kits. Ignore the prices cuz they are usually retail. www.renn-sport.net has great prices you may wanna check them out.

All this coming from a guy who wants to put ///M badges on his 325iS? Sounds like you're more rice than the civic owner.
By the way, welcome to the board, mjrage. As you can see I'm new to these forums too. Seems like a pretty good place so far.
many of the people here dont have bimmers anyway. it so happens that not everyone is fortunate enough to afford a bmw. i was lucky that my parents told me to start saving up a long time ago, so now ive got one. to answer your question go to the faq section and check out all the links there, heres the link for engine swaps:http://www.bavengine.com/
