So I pay like $650 (after shipping) to Umnitza for these awesome "ZKW Ellipsoids with angel eyes and DDD Lightning enhanced" basically the best ones they have because the other company's are shit and they all fog...Drove to work in a heavy rain today and notice that half of each headlight inside the glass is fogged! Is it easy to remove the glass? I just want to wipe the inside with anti-fog stuff. Is this what everyone is talking about cheap lights fogging up? because these weren't cheap and they look pretty fuckin' fogged to me....
I got a set of those arriving tomorow.. exact same lights.. I sure as &^%$ hope they dont fog up, but I'd be curious to hear if anyone else has seen any fogging in the ZKW's.
Regardless of temp, or weather (i.e. rain), or washing the car, my ZKW's have never fogged. If your's do, somethin ain't right...
They (umnitza) have to crack them open to install the DDE, and obviously they didn't seal them well when putting them together. You could do what you are talking about, but you run the risk of f$#king them up in the process. I would call them and ask for advice.
You'l either end up sending them back for a replacement\repair, or you'l end up cracking them open on a very dry day or a bathroom\small room where a dehumidifier's been running stright for a few days, and applying anti fog solution to the inside glass and resealing them yourself. That's what I'd do.
I talked to Matt and he is going to send me replacements...(by the way, for anyone willing to spend a couple hundred dollars on lights, spend a few more and buy from this guy at Umnitza...the Fu**n' guy answers every e-mail almost instantly and picks up the phone HIMSELF every time I call, including when I was in the middle of installing them). It may just be that one of the clips isn't seated properly, however, at this point the inside of the glass has water marks so i told him I would rather have new ones and he understood. I mean...for $650 I don't want to have to be doing work on these lights at all...he agreed...anyway...this is my tale...hope you all enjoyed.
I'd have to agree. Matt @ Umitza is extremely responsive. I think every email I've sent him was responded to in < 10 minutes. I really like that kinda service!
Unfortunately I have to send the old ones back...I have to actually buy the new ones, and he will refund me when he gets the defective ones...apparently some people didn't want to send back there old ones...the ol' 2 for 1 deal...whatever...as long as I get my new ones...I couldn't sleep last night thinking about this....

I totally agree. I have been praising this company since January, as Matt is very good to work with. I also had a few issues, and he was quick to help, and as I have said before, anyone wanting to upgrade there car's vision, BUY FROM UMNITZA.
BTW RIMBEMR26, did you use that stonegard stuff on the headlights. I used it on the turn signals and the fogs, but they didn't look good when applied to the headlights, just curious.
Actually, Matt was supposed to include the stonguard free because my headlights took forever to get to me...but somehow this got overlooked..I didn't feel like making a big deal about it...he is a little worried that mine may be dinged up when I send them back but I told them I've only had them on for a week or two...He told me they will put them on the new ones before they ship them out...I hope they don't look shitty...can you remove them once they are on?
