well i finally decided on my new rims, i went with 18x8.5 BBS CH's they should be here next friday. my tire choice has yet to be decided. now i dont got a lot of money left over after the choice i went with.... can anyone recommend a good set thats affordable?
The guys at tirerack say their great, and they do a lot of testing with BMW's.
If you want something cheap, that's what I'd buy. I almost did, but in the end spent a few more bucks for those in the other thread.
Of the cheaper tires I've owned, these are the best I've had yet. The only downside was I only got about 18K miles out of them, but other than that they had great grip, lateral stability, and great in the wet.
btw, nice choice of wheel. Those things look amazing. I'm jealous. If I were to buy something other than an oem style wheel, I'd go BBS.
I have heard a bit of good about those Avons that jllphan talked about. I bought Fuzion ZRI and they are great so far and I have not heard anything bad about them.
I hava good friend with an 02 Cobra, and he has those ZRI Fuzion tires. He likes 'em. I was gonna list those too, he said they have great launch control and are pretty quiet. He also said they were pretty good in the wet.
Hey Furious, I'd plan on rolling your fenders, if you go with fat shoes out back. I've got 17's, and with 255's out back, there is no way I could have another inch diameter without rubbing. Not sure where your ride height is, but if it's like mine, I'd roll 'em if I were to go with 18's.

hey man good luck with your new rims. hey dont you give me your old rims if its possible please.
I have fuzion tires on my car and they are great, they grip very well. When i bought them they were the new tire that brigestone had put out. They said they were so good becasue they used the new technology. which was that the tred would ride the same at 30,000 miles as it did when it was new. I dont know if that is that important to u but they have been very good tires for me.
