New paint job

I talked to a guy that will do everything that needs to be done to a car that is being re-painted including taking out any dents that there may be for all $1900. It would be a couple hundred dollars less than this, but the paint on my 318is is brillant red and apparently this paint is more expensive. Does this sound good or what?

hard to say, if the quality is really good then its worth it. i would see some of their work and get a few more quotes from other places, they are always free.

The day that I went to talk to him I looked at another BMW that he had worked on, it was an 80's 6-series. I've never seen an old 6 series that looked that good. The car had apparently had about 4,000 dollars worth of hail damage. The guy totally pulled out all of the dents and re-painted it for $1500. Here in Texas hail is a big problem. I wish I had a picture of the car. Whats the average price for painting an entire car?

Quality is obviously the issue. If it is stellar quality, then that is a great price. I got a bid from an excellent paint shop in Kansas City and it was 3,000 for a 1977 Datsun (Nissan) 280Z. That is for a perfect paint job. Check his references.
