new owner 94 318

just bought my son a 94 318 black , auto, 137000 miles looks like been taken care of but can not tell mechanically, any suggestions on things to check ? brad in illinois

struts shock trailing arm bushings, atf fluid do a tune up and you should be good

vincent thanks for reply , anything special for tranny fluid ,filter change? what do you suggest for tuneup besides plugs brad

tranny flushes suck get it done though by a shop they will get you for about 200 oil changes are simple its a 8mm bolt i believe ,on the bottom of the engine and the filter is under the hood i use 10 w 40 and it took 8 quarts get plugs theres not wires just coil packs and 6 plugs get a coolant flush too mine has 192 on it and i had to do trailing arm bushings, shocks and struts but i work at a shop and those parts got me for about 500

Also it's a good idea to check the front lower control arms/bushings.
