Hey guys,
I just joined this forum because I just bought a 1993 318i. It has 123,000 miles, a manual transmission, and is super clean. It runs really well (handles almost as good as the brand new ones I get to play with at work!) and only has a couple simple issues (the right signal light bulb behind my guages is burnt out, and the brake fuid sensor needs replaced). I will admit that I don't know much about BMWs, so I figured I'd ask the gurus...what kinds of things should I look out for/check/replace? I plan on doing a tune-up once it gets a little warmer outside, but what else should I look for?

You will have to remove your cluster to replace the bulb for the directional... How To BMW

Things to watch out for.....

Sagging glove box....

Coolant system issues

Thermostat housing plastic, cracks. /Replace with aluminum housing

upper radiator neck plastic, cracks. / Just look to replace sooner or later

Water pump with plastic impeller, falls apart. / replace with metal impellered water pump

Brake light circuit failure message, bad brake pedal switch, dirty & corroded
bulb contacts.

Trunk wiring harness, left trunk hinge, look for broken wires.
