Hi all,

new to the forums

I'm planning on getting myself an E36 bimmer, either a coupe or sedan, doesn't matter, but it has to be 325 or better, 318 is too underpowered for my liking. Also it has to be a stickshift, of course, its a BMW.

Anyway, I have a few questions to ask before I buy one...

1. I've done a few searches on some online websites for my new bimmer, and I have found a few good ones. There is this one silver 93' 325IS going for $8900, with 75k miles, looks good. Very low miles for that year, but its from a dealer. Do you think I'm better off going with a dealer, or a private seller? I can't really find any good ones from private sellers. Found another good one, a 328i, also from a dealer for $8400, but no mileage listed....

2. Why do people always say ebay sucks for auto parts? I've done my research, and I've found a few good auctions for some promising euro ellipsoids headlights with DDE angel eyes, for under $200.00, I know people say blah blah, they are crap that will fog up, crappy LED angel eyes or something like that, but these are DDEs with glass housings. But I'm willing to take that risk if I can save $400.00 from buying ZKW ones.

anyway, not looking for flames, please anyone have any experience with these? I'm pretty sure they are Depos

Basically the parts that go into it are of poor quality. The covers are probably thin, and will crack easy. The plastic housing is probably poor quality as well. The angel eyes will burn out in a few months, and not be very bright. Also, the wiring is probably quite sketchy and will require some ghetto rigging more than likely.

You could buy them and just try and reseal them. I think it would work. I'm tempted to do something like that. I don't want angel eyes or HID, but I also don't want 500 dollars worth of headlights. I'll probably just stick with the stockers.

This is one of those times you get what you pay for, it's your call ultimately.

As far as the car goes. Decide exactly what you want and wait till you find one like that. For me it was a '92 325 5 speed green, silver, or black. Seems fairly broad. I wanted 9 months to find the right one. And it was worth it.
