Well people it only took 5 hours of working by my dad and myself (he did most of it like he always does then complains later ) I've got a new guibo and transmission mounts. yehaw. I used the article on pelican parts and it was great.
Here's a picture of the part of the guibo I could see from underneat the car normally. It's not in too bad of shape so I figured I'll replace it for the hell of it.

Driveshaft flex coupler aka guibo. It sits in between the transmission output shaft and the driveshaft so you don't get vibrations. It's basically instead of a front universal joint like most cars have.

Lol im guessing it aint supposed to look like that :P it must ride a lot nicer with the new one on eh?

The vibration I had is gone, but I think I didn't get the downpipes tight enough or something cause there's an extra ruble in the exaust now lol. Can't touch it now, it's nice and hot from my on-ramp-negotiations.

Well, don't feel bad, when my friend and I were installing his new header for his integra, a bolt dropped down into his cat and now his car rattles 24/7 =)
That's priceless. I think I'm going to say that the reason it has an extra rumble is because we didn't replace the gasket on the downpipe to header connection. It's sunday, so no bmw dealer open. If it doesn't go away and I get annoyed I'll head over to BMW.

I had one of those come apart on me... it wasnt the best sound in the world when it did...... it one of those sounds you just stop the car and get out thinking its gonna blow up or something sounds.... good replacment!!!!!
I dont think those replace the U-joints do they? I think they are just in-line with the driveshaft to absorb hard vibrations and sudden shock in the output shaft. (like... dropping the freaking clutch, I'm sure the guibo helps out A LOT)
If it IS there as a U-joint replacement, even for just a degree or two..... I seriously want to know the reasoning behind the engineers that chose that decision.
So, tell me, kevin, are those CHUNKS MISSING? Holy crap!
it actually dosent look that bad, but she is on the way out the door , my guess is about another 5000 miles and she would have went. that is unless there is something in the pic im missing.
What you can't see in the pictures is the cracks all the way through around the guides for the bolts.
I think it's just there for vibration, instead of a u joint.
Update on my UUC tranny mounts and TMEs. They put a weird vibration sound into the cabin under hard acceleration, it's kinda cool sounding, but some might be annoyed. The mounts are supposed to break in in like 100 miles or something.
