You're never gonna get a good launch with an auto without either a) the gnarliest brake stand in history or b ) a neutral drop (which will make your engine cry).

Um you could go for the differential out of a 318 manual or auto. I can't remember the ratio for it.
if he has a 318 auto he really cant get a better gear ratio. If he has a 32X then he can't swap the 318 diff. It is a different shap, needs a different subframe and a different size drive shaft, among other things.
