new to forums! have a couple questions

hi im new to the forums,

im looking into getting a 325is for my first car, the only thing that seems to be in my price range are the 92' e36. is there anything wrong with them? do any of you guys have a manual e36? lots of them are auto, makes sense cause its a luxury car.

my dads firend also tells me if something goes wrong iwth bmws. its expensive to replace parts.

what kinda things should i look for when finding a e36? is it to expensive to mainttain for a 16 year old? and how would insurance be.

sorry about the nub questions, any input would be appreciated.

Early e36s have weak subframes, bad waterpumps, etc. Please veiw the FAQ forum for a complete list.

Using the search would be a reat start (like; typical problems for e36). Dont mean to bash. As far as anwsering the question: Yes, it is going to cost a good deal for repairs especially at the dealer (DONT go there unless you really need too, find a mechanic that works on euro cars instead), or you could do it yourself. Parts are usually expensive, best chances are forum members selling it or ebay, just be carefull. I have a 92 e36 and yeah, problems do come up (come on, its a 12 year old car) but usually its minor things never really a major one. Its also good that you found this site/forum cause it does help when any problems comes up. All in all, if you dont mistreat it, it shouldnt mistreat you.

I have a 92 325is with higher mileage and i just expierienced regular wear and tear repairs. Now that my entire car is practically brand new it is amazing. But im selling it since i found great deal on a 951 and im obsessed with those cars. So i put in all the work into my car and now im selling it.... go figure lol.
