As far as anwsering the question: Yes, it is going to cost a good deal for repairs especially at the dealer (DONT go there unless you really need too, find a mechanic that works on euro cars instead), or you could do it yourself. Parts are usually expensive, best chances are forum members selling it or ebay, just be carefull. I have a 92 e36 and yeah, problems do come up (come on, its a 12 year old car) but usually its minor things never really a major one. Its also good that you found this site/forum cause it does help when any problems comes up. All in all, if you dont mistreat it, it shouldnt mistreat you.
