| I installed my Brullen exhaust today so I thought I would post some pics because these are not the most popular exhausts for Bimmers and people might be curious.
I installed it with a friends help in about 2 hours. The most time consuming part of the install was trimming the rear valence (Brullen tips are MUCH bogger than stock, and 2 of the bolts sheared off when we were taking the stock exaust off.
Otherwise it fit perfectly on the stock hangers and matched up great will the catalytic converter.
As far as looks, I was a little concerned about the size of the tips (they are BIG). Once the exhaust was hung, it tucked away nicely and in my opinion has a very clean but definately custom look. We did have to trim the rear valence about 2" Dremel to make it fit.
This exhaust has an awesome sound to it. When I started it the first time it sounded great, very deep and growly. I was afraid it would have a "ricy" tone since I had heard these exhausts were loud, but there is NOTHING ricy about it. My friend that helped me install it said it sounded like a V8 at idle. (My friend has a Supra single turbo pushing about 700 rwhp so he knows cars and mods and he was impressed with the way it sounded)
Under power it keeps that deep, bassy growl all the way up through the gears. Since I have an automatic, it does drone a little in the cabin when crusing at low RPM's. I eliminated most of the droning by using my "M" shift mode to select what gear I wanted and I could make the droning go away. Once at highway speed it sounds almost stock, nice and quiet.
I could not be happier with the way it looks and sounds and I would reccomend this exhaust to anyone.
