| Hi, This is my first post. I just purchased a 95 325is with 130,000 miles. It is a 5 speed with the white, grey leather interior. I cannot remember the name of the interior but I believe it starts with a P. The passenger side seat does not move from front to back. All other movements work on the seat except for the forward and backward. I took the back of the seat appart and disconnected the clip and checked the voltage and found that the switch was putting out voltage so I determined that the switch was not bad. I then began to look at the rails, and motor. I found that the seat is moved forward and backward by two small motors. By holding down the switch, with the clip plugged back in; I slightly tapped the motors with a small wrench to see If I could possibly get any movement out of them. Well I did manage to get the seat into a comfortable position, It was stuck pretty far forward. However I was on my way back to college so I didnt have much time to stay at home and work on the seat. I think that the bushings on the motor may have gone bad or perhaps the motor itself is bad. Does anyone know how much a motor for these seats are? |
