Hey,
I just bought a '93 325i and was wondering if you guys could give me some advice on care, problems and performance (boosters).
What to invest in and what not.
I also have this rattling noise in the rear while driving over bumps and brought it to the dealership. They said I ought to replace my shocks and shock mounts, but I've heard that might not even solve the problem.
Thanks ahead of time!!!

nice choice. i say for performance mods you should invest in a intake, exhaust, and performance chip. if you want to make your car really fast you should start saving up for a super charger or turbo charger. remember to keep this in mind performance over looks. go for performance first then get the stuff like sound system and rims and kit later on.
Well, one thing to look at is if the water pump has been replaced..if not go ahead and replace that(check the FAQ Forum) The rattling can be a result of the rear shock mounts, again check the FAQ Forum. Then, if you talk to the forum sponser, I think that he told me that AA claims 45hp from there intake, exhaust, and chip...so that would be a good thing to invest in for speed. Then for suspension, start out with strut bars, I have heard that they give you a very noticable difference in handling. Then you can continue onto asthetics(sp?)....adj. coilovers, stereo, body kit...

be sure to check on that before you run with it. I myself would have to see it to believe it.

1. spring and sleave that fit over existing shock (cheaper)
2. spring and shock
not all coilovers are adjustable....
