hey guys
i apologize if this is in the wrong forum, but was unsure so placed it here. Chris Bangle has re-designed all the bmws now except the 3 series. I know the 1,2,4 series have been revealed including the M4 and stuff but all on paper so far.

I was wondering if anyone knew or had heard about the re-designing of the current 3 series since its pretty much been the same since 99/00 apart from the eyelids that keep gettin sleeker....lol ... the 3 series has basically almost looked the same through the last decade (when compared to change in car designs like accord or maxima or something) and was wondering if it was going to loose this traditional look!!

thanks
Q

GOOD GOD I hope that guy dosn't touch the 3 series!!! current 3 series are best looking ones out of all of the BMW of it's time and ALL of the bangled BMW's in my opinion... My only problem is they arn't very powerful and don't come with LSD's
E46 is the most beautiful of them, aside from that one silver M3 CSL that was posted in the pic forum a while ago. (Just take a look at woobie's car!)
My dreamcar would be a 2004 M3 with an M5 V8 engine in it with a tight LSD in tbe back and about $50,000 to spare for tires, oil, and gasoline

EDIT: I have a NWS (foul language) comment below.

hey
ya i agree, if he tries his funky designs on the 3 it will mess it up. I finially have began to like his 7 series...but the same styling dont look so good on the 5.

yah the 2004 M3 would be awesome, black withred leather....whoooohooo...

ghead ghead

I kinda like the sleek coupe design, but it is NOT a good 3 series design...I hate the bubblyness. May as well be a freakin Ford Focus or Toyota Echo...Its supposed to have aggressive angles, not p*ssy curves! What is the point of having a 3 series if it is gonna look like every other series car they have???? Bangle needs to burn in hell for that...

Yeah I hate that guy... who hired him?

I mean - the 7 couldn't look worse if you tried
The 6 in my opinion is just a luke warm design at best
I don't think he did the 5, but that is the only one I kinda like now
1 series pics I've seen are gaaaaay (but I guess it is the 1 series...)

The Z4 is cool I guess - did he do that? I still kinda like the Z3 better, and the Z8 was siiiick - how come you never hear about them? were they ever even sold?

He doesn't have a good track record so far - but I read an article about him saying he knows his designs are controversial, but sales are up so obviously everyone likes them...

It always takes time though to appreciate something new - if there is a model I love when the new one comes out I rarely like it until much later...

I started a thread with pics and news on all aspects of BMW plans last week, check it out...

{HERE}

Take it easy on the language guys. I don't care, but many here do. It's not that hard to refrain.

IMO Bangle will be looked at in high regards five years from now. He is taking BMW into the next phase of design, and other car makers have already began to follow his lead (Mazda, Acura, etc.)

hey
ya if u see the pic of the new 3 series coupe it does look like a 6.
Thinking of it deeper i do agree with jilphans views......look at the M5 in 1989 and look at the one now....i def like the one now but the guys 12 yrs ago prob didnt like the change.....again this is coming from someone who dislikes chris bangle in general (for the 3 and 5) but is starting too see the reality of the situation maybe?
later
