I just bought a 1993 318i just because of the gas mileage, it has about 191,000 miles on it but the car is like brand new condition becuz its a single owner car. I would like to know that did the 318i's came with the trip computer and if they didnt whats the thing thats below the climate control which has like 14 or 15 buttons on it not sure and i would also like to know that do the bmw in 1993 came with the fade out courtesy lights. I have a stock wing on it which is lighted from one end to the other end, the owner said it came with the car. What does this mean do i have a sports package, i owned a audi before and i dont know much about bmw's.
318i cars can come with an on board computer, which can include a trip computer. If you have an LCD panel sitting below your climate control with lots of buttons below it, then it sounds to me like you have the On Board Computer (OBC). Read the manual on what it does and how.
The best way to find out what all of the options are on the car is to write down the VIN and call any dealer. They should be able to look up the car on their computer system.
you are thinking of the on board computer... OBC if you hear people takling about it... also for the curtesy lights im pretty sure it came with those... not possitive though... congrats on the new buy, and to the werkz!
same with mine mine has heated seats and i also guess it has the sports suspension and can u tell me that below the odometer what are the graph things that show up in yellow and red, and does it really show miles per gallon below the rpm meter, how much do u get in the city and highway i mean mpg, Do u know how to fix a rip in seat, its in the seam so i think it can be stitched but if u have any advice tell me. My aim is preyash234, and u can im me.
nice looking car, wish I had the good looking paint you have !!! I also have a 318i. It's a fun car and done with the right conditions it can give you up to 500 miles to the tank. Although you probably won't get more than 440-460.

Thanks for the reply i want some info on the instrument cluster whats those graph things that show below the digital odometer and i want my whole dashboard to light red i mean it lights up red but it just isnt enough cool enough for me so are there any other gadgets i can put in to make it look more cooler.
i drive a 325i but i pretty sure the "graph things" your talking about is your oil meter. Your supposed to reset it with an Oil Reset tool(get it from bavarian but you can probly find it cheaper somewhere else)
the 'graph' thing is to show when you car is next due for an inspection/service. it can either be 1 or 2, 2 being more thorough. search for it on here and you'll find it. and yes u can reset it.
im guessing you're talking about your cluster lighting up!? if so u can adjust the brightness with the little turning wheel by the steering wheel, i think for you it'll be on the right hand side of the steering wheel!
