Need Some Advise Please !!

Hi all
i have a 94 325I conv that i picked up few days ago
the car have its pros and cons but what i though nothing was major with the car
i drove it around 400 miles since i got it and all i noticed is some shaking in the steering wheel , i know that might be caused by several things,
alignment , wheel balance , bad rotors .
but the 2 things that driving me crazy now are the following
1- when i hit the breaks the steering wheel shakes and i hear something knocking in the front end.
2- the right front Wheel is not centered in the fenderbay , its more of backward toward the side skirt , i did some reading and i can't really find out whats wrong
the car does not pull to any direction while driving or breaking , but the steering wheel is not centered also and its tilted toward the right .
i tried to get the alignment but the shop that i go to , said they can't do BMWs because of strange reason that didn't make any Freaking since
please guys i need some advice.
i drive this car 70 everyday on the highway and i dont want to see my front wheel racing me lol

Congrats on your new ragtop. The front ends on these cars are very simple and it sounds like you have one or maybe both "popsicle" mounts broken. These are lolly pop looking mounts that connect the lower control arms to the body with a rubber bushing type mount in them. Often times the center of this rubber gets punched out and the lower control arm moves around and causes all kinds of problems. Since you say one wheel is off center in the wheel well it seems logical that the mount on that side may be bad. If you are not a do it yourself er' a reputable BMW indy is a must. But if you are mechanically inclined it can all be done in your garage. While you are there you will want to inspect the whole steering and suspension system- lower control arms with ball joints- sway bar mounts-struts- and brakes- Several worn parts usually add up to front end shaking so you may have multiple issues to fix. good luck

i guess i'll have to change the whole front Suspension.
i found lots of very useful links for DIY's and also lots of complete Kits.
am thinking about this one : NEW BMW E36 STEERING RACK AND PINION & SUSPENSION KIT | eBay.
and while am into it i might also replace the brakes.
thanks for your advise
P.s the most that i have done before i change brakes and sparks lol that will be a biggy
