usually what are they put on with... adhesive wise...
i am just worried about the paint job..
secondly when i start my car of a monring it keeps squeeking from the engine...
I think my pulleys are shot since they make a zzzz zzzz zzzz sorta sound..
But all of a sudden in cold morning she squeeks every 2 seconds or so...
Secondly driving home tonight from the car wash... curising at 60 or so... all of a sudden i lost power... i flatten my foot but she didnt rev, then after 2 jerks away she went again....
and finally im looking at some new tyres..
Currently i have pirelli p6000 225/45/17 on the rear, and continental compact 225/45/17 on the rear..
I was think turanza's... or potenza's...
I dont like the Pirelli's cos they suck in the wet... They wear to quickly... to soft of a compound... they cost 3 arms and a leg.... and they are a fairly loud tyre...
Also to swap and change my pulleys how big of a job is it...
The other thing i could see the problem being is a bearing... something to do with the ac... cos when i turn my heater on my car looses shit loads of power... and is jerky and makes weird sounds...
If anyone can help me out ill be more than appreciative
that sounds shitty, i dont think its the pullies - probably your belt(s).
bad gas could be the reason you lost power when you floored it
The heater/AC prob. i have no idea, maybe the blower motor is bad and your car is having to work too hard to turn it - thus giving you that loss
your gonna wanna try the cheap ways of fixing it first. you said its a 318, well i havent found any pullies for our cars other than stock. by cheap i mean the belts and gas
The pullies aren't a big deal. It helps if you can be under the car to change them, but I believe they can all three be reached from the top with a bit of trying. It could be your belts as previously mentioned, however, it depends on the noise that you are hearing. I just replaced my pulliers, they are about $100 from the dealership.
btw, the badge is on just like the hood roundel, 2 "pins" that go into the trunk
if you want it off, take the insides out of the trunk (the carpetish shit) its held on by plastic rivits. take a screwdriver and carefully pry them off cause youll need to reuse em. then look inside and see if you can see the pins commin in from the badge, from there just push em out. i think this is the best way because if you do it from the outside, youll probably end up rapin the paint.
The reason i didnt think it was the belts were they were replaced not to long ago... then i thought they could have been to tight but they dont seem that bad

AS FOR YOUR BELTS CK YOUR BELT TENSIONER SHOCK . DID YOU HAVE YOUR CAR RUNNING IN THE WASH ? . IF SO YOUR CAR COULD HAVE HAD A COIL WET DUE TO THE WATER RUN OFF , OR SOME WATER IN THE AIR BOX .

Prolem A. Carwash + E36 = water got into your DME, but didn't flood it...samething happened to me. Your DME is behind and above your glovebox area, but you can only access it from under your hood..above the positive terminal switch, you'll see a foam/rubbery square trim held in place with 3 flat rivets. Pop the rivets off, rmove foam-if it's old it will crumble like a cookie does and you'll have to replace it anyway. Check the rubber seals around the area as you go for leakage, underneath that is a smaller plastic cover that is the door to the DME compartment...by now if water got in there...it will be pouring or dribbling out as you remove the door. Unplug and pull out DME, dry off DME thoroughly and wrap in a ziplock back then reconnect all wires and cables and force DME back into compartment..this will take awhile...dont break anything... There you go, lesson learned do NOT take you BMW thru an auto wash...hand wash it yourself...
B. I'm not even gonna ask why a 318i has an M3 badge on it or why you would buy a used 318i with a M3 badge on it...redlights would go off in my head at the dealership that would prevent me from buying a car like that...seeing as how the previous owner might've been racing the shit outta the car or something worse to impress people...
C. Bearings and Pulleys...don't DIY if u r not sure how....risky. Tires go to Tirerack.com find what you need. For my 1995 318i, I got Khumo Ecstas on 16 inch OEM alloys (see sig) and they have been working super in snow, ice and rain. They are also quiet and very firm on the highway.
Umm 2 things there is water falling out of my car... I dont think thats the problem ok.. and secondly i did hand wash it... i just used the car wash equipment...
and the badge came on the car.. I hate it..
Also does anyone know a company that sells gear to turn my single little exhaust into a double... more like the 328i...
I have Sumitumo HTR+ tires on my car, and i love them, theyre great in all weather and everything, i have 235/45/17 on the front and 245/40/17 on the rear, and they're great.

google gibson exhaust...for the cheapest chrome pipe replacment...you're not replacing the exhaust but you're adding a chrome tube over the one on your car..there is a believe ones where you can have two pipe ends over the orignal one...
these are clean cut OEM grade chrome....not the Honda rice pipes...the run about $20 for something simple to about $50 or $70 for what you probably want.
Bavauto also sells exhaust systems...but you're looking at replacing the entre system under your car to get two pipes at the end and that is about $500 and up plus labor for that...
BTW I like the direction you're taking your car in...we have similar taste in mods for our cars....and Kudos on the hand wash...but what do you mean when you say " I have water coming out of my car"?
If the sound under the hood is a squeel then check all the idler pullies. I broke down in northern OK a week ago and had to be towed to OK city to my mechanic. Make sure to check all three my mechanic said that normal life is 70,000 miles and while changing out all three of mine he referenced "did you notice I had all three of those in stock". So even though I had put new belts on three months ago I got to put three new ones on when the others where schredded at 80 mph.
I think every1 (well 95%) in this forum is taking their car in that general direction! So far I havent seen even one person who wants their car all "riced" out with chromes nd shit like tht!
