im thinking about getting a BMW
however i really want a 328. i found one for $6000 wich is what i can aford
but it has 155k miles. i have also found some 325s for the same amount
but they have way less miles (like 100k or so) what would you do??
p.s. i would like to maby turbo it in the future to.
100k is just fine for putting on a turbo, as long as the engine has been taken care of. If you plan on going turbo with it, you are going to need to put in a thicker headgasket to lower the compression ratio. There are a lot of things that go with Forced Induction, so you better read up before you know what you are doing.
155 is nothing. Mine is supercharged and has 153, runs like a champ.

well i may not be turboing just something i though about.
mostly i just want a nice car thats also fast.
i just want to know if its worth getting the 328 over the 325 i mean its like 20 more hp right
my first car was a mazda rx7 r.i.p. and ever sence ive always wanted another
nice fast car. a stock bimmer is probobly all i need.
p.s. my curent car is a mazda protege (a.k.a. slowtege) lol
p.s.s. to the person who asked about picks you can see it on autotrader
just look for a bmw within 100 miles of 38863
The 328 has 1 more hp than the 325. It has howver, 25 more ft/lbs of torque. there is a noticeable difference in the 2 engines. Go with the 328 if you can.

If the mileage is mostly highway driven 155k isn't anything to worry about, especially if it's a manual tranny. You have to go on the overall condition of the car. If it's been garage kept and you have all or most service records or receipts for parts, that's a big plus. Have the original shocks and struts been replaced? Because the stock ones suck huge, and any aftermarket replacement would be better. Do a CarFax search on it and check for any collision damage or anything else it turns up. Check for any oil leaks and know what you're getting into. If it's an automatic, its a GM tranny, and look at it closely. But that's about the right price for one that's in decent shape.
haha yea maby but i dont have that kind of money to do a build.
im going to have to wait on getting the turbo as it is. if i even get one.
i may just leave it stock and make it look good.
something i dont get is bmw has a 3L m52 motor i think that makes like 250hp
so why is the 2.8 so much lower(190hp)?
it should be more like just over 200hp

All 328i's produce 200~205bhp on the bank. 193bhp is official spec because above that you way lot more insurance in germany.
Do you honoustly think that a 300cc bigger engine would only be possible to give you 1bhp, but is possible to give you 25ft/lbs?
Go for the 328i... but do get a 325i intake, that just sounds awesome.
