Need help with brake light circuit

Hi there, I just bought (private party purchase) a 1994 325i. It has been very well maintained but I do have a problem with a "Brake Light Circuit". I have checked the bulbs and the fuses and all is well there, I still don't have brake lights. Has anyone experienced the problem and can you recommend where I look next?

Not sure if this will help but I just had a problem with my brake lights, plate lights and even the dash lights would shut off. After working through the problem with a mechanic we were able to trace the problem to the worn out wires on the left hand side going to the trunk lid. We peeled back the rubber covering on them and right at the obvious bend there was almost seven wires that were fraid.

Not sure thats the problem but give it a check.

Thanks, I knew I was gonna have to track it, hoping not to have to track it too far. I will try looking at the wires to the trunk.
