Something is wrong with my car and I'm not sure what it is. I took my car to town fair tire to get 2 new rear tires and an allinement. After everything was all done I took off and in 2nd between 3-4,000 rmps my whole car started to shake!!! like it felt like my tranny or something in the rear end was about to break off. So I took it back and they did a recheck on the allinement and put the new tires on the front. I drove off 1st was smooth then second rear end felt like it was skipping or dragging behind me like if i was on a bumpy road but bad and it did it in every gear but only starts at 3,000 rpms. Can any one help me? Its a 1993 318i.

Sounds like the suspension is out. The one of the rear toes might have been knocked out of alignment on one of the wheels. This can happen if the car's been knocked about, like running into gutters.

At slow speeds, this may not effect the car too much, but at higher speeds, it can make the car unstable like you described.

Get them to check the rear toe in/out are in factory specs.

Good luck with your car

The tires were balanced. I think it might be the drive shaft. Could this be a possibilty? And could miss-jacking a car up bend a drive shaft? the floor jack looks like the letter I.
Any suggestions?
