Need Help!

Aright I need some help. I don't know that much about bmw's but a friend of mine has offerd to sell me his 93 318is for around 3500. The engine is in really good shape but it needs a new transmission. If I were to buy it, I would have about 6 or 7 grand to put into it. So I want to buy a rebuilt m3 engine and trans but i have no idea if it will even fit. If not I could rebuild the trans and but I still want more horsepower. I've never seen any turbo or supercharger kits for a 318is and im not sure if I want to all motor because i need this car to last me. So if anybodys got advice that could help, that'd be great. thanx

You have to change the whole drivetrain, suspension with brakes and the ECU. I say don't start with this, or you must have an own workshop and the money. You'd better buy an original M3.

You also have to swap the rear sub frame...

There are supercharger kits for the 318, the Downing Atlanta S/C kit is awesome but a little pricy. Pretty much anythign else has to end up being a custum job. For the swap there really isn't anything too tricky about it. It really is just time consumeing and unless you have another car you really should pay some one to do it, but that makes it even more of a viable option to simply buy an M3. Aslo the DC S/C kit shouldn't cut down on the life of the motor too much as long as the motor is strong as it is.
