Need Advice-First BMW

Okay, I am buying a 1996 318IS. Interior is mint. Looks like it just came off the showroom floor. Not even a scratch in it! The exterior, paint not a scratch. However, the rear driver's side panel has been wacked pretty hard. The story goes she parked in her driveway, put it in nuetral and forgot the emergency brake and when she got out it rolled down the hill and side swiped a tree, cracking the windshield, front headlight lends and rear bumper....Well I am getting this car for 3gs. It drives like brand new. I know this would be a bit of a project. but I am wondering if it is worth it. It has 137k on the engine which is very clean. Any advice? All service is up to date.

3k... and only 1 panel. go for it

you will prob. go to a junkyard, get a new panel, and have it painted... it shouldnt cost more than 1k

For $3k, you'd get the best bargain after Carfax check. A E36 coupe is the most coveted. Better put the interior and AC high on your buying criterion. I bought a '95 325i with little front end damage and in 130k mileage for $5.5k last year and am unhappy with AC and leather seats condition.
