Need advice

I am looking at buying a used 1999 328is with 93,500 miles. The 328 has an M3 body style and has been upgraded with a Dinan performance chip. The asking price is $13,800, but the owner will trade it in at a BMW dealer if he doesn't sell it in a few weeks. The body is in good condition. Is it a good deal? Is it unusual to have an M3 body style? Any advice would be appreciated.

The M3 body style can be purchased seperately. It is a VERY VERY common upgrade. I guess it must have been a late model because I believe the last year of the e36 was supposed to be 1998. If it were a 1999 e46 the price would seem much better. I think this guy is overcharging. Remember, dont pay for upgrades and modifications. Although very popular, he is stil overcharging!

besides you can find a e36 M3 in about that same price range!

He's probably trying to ask for "Blue Book" value. If he was going to trade it in, he definitely wont get more than $10.5k for it. Look at KBB.com for some trade-in values for that year and model Bimmer so you'll have an idea on what to pay. Sometimes we all get carried away with our emotional excitement that we just want to jump into it. Find out more about the car( Service history) then negotiate. No regrets . Good Luck

yea even 10,500 is a biy much, offer him about 9500, it is 2 models behind
