n00b needs help

I have a 1992 BMW i need help with. Trying to sell my car but it had an engine swap. I have the engine VIN and I don't have the papers from the previous owner. however the guy tells me it is a 95 M3 engine and the car has an M3 clutch and Active Autowerke flywheel.

If I give the VIN can someone verify it is a 1995 M3 engine? Also what number on the VIN tells me its a 95 M3 and not another type engine.

I need help and thanks guys
