My Poor Window :'(

I was rolling my driver window up and i heard a pop and i looked over and the top corner of the window was in the middle and the glass fell down into the door........perffect timing because it is raining and now i am stuck home because i have to have my car cover on to keep the rain out..............I can hear the motor turning but nothing is happening................

i think the regulator broke, any outher suggestions as to what broke?..

Does any 1 know where i can get parts? .......and any installation hints that u may know of?

I had to replace a door on my car and I stripped the old one bare so I could sell the parts; not much help to you now though. I would check Ebay for the parts. I managed to come across one the other day-- I can't remember for which door though. It may not necesaarily be the regulator, it is made of metal. There is a plastic piece that holds the window in the track. And we all should know BMW palstic by now; it breaks. Take the door panel off and look around, my piece was white and it seemed very brittle. There isn't very many things in there. If you have airbags, be careful and disconnect the battery before starting.

I think I had the same problem as you. One day I was rolling down my window and my window was out of alignment and I tried rolling it up and it went out of socket and rolled up completely wrong. My dad and myself popped the door open and found that the regulator's little ball bearing thing broke and it needed to be replaced. But of course BMW doesn't sell them so we had to buy a new regulator and now the window is back to good. Just need to drill out the new one and replace the new one with some new bolts.
