my new 95 325i

hey, i'm a new beemer owner and new to this board. I just picked up my '95 325i from the car lot today and I have a few questions. First of all, it is an automatic and there is a switch next the the shifter, with an "A" on one end and an "M" on the other. Anyone know what this is for?

I checked in the manual and I think it has the wrong manual, cause the manual has the 318 and 328 models listed in the front, but I have a 325. Did they even make a 328 in 1995?

also, anyone know how much spare keys for a '95 325i go for? thanks.

Welcome. I'm pretty new here myself. They didn't sell the 328 until '96... as for replacement keys, I assume you'd have to go to a dealer, and it's probably not going to be cheap. The A and M is probably either a winter/summer mode or a regular/sport mode... never been in an automatic, so that's just a relatively educated guess.

i bought a 96 328 today and i was told that the M makes it feel more like manual shifting (??) i will check out my manual tonight and let you know.

the M mode is so you can work your way through the gears while driving manualy(not for performance reasons though), A mode is just full auto.
