my new 328 IS

Aight guys ive heard 95 and older had the plastic impellars in the pumps, and i have heard that its the 97 and older that should be replaced with metal impellars. I just bought a 1996 328 IS and i was wondering if i should change it and what impellar it is has in the water pump. Thanks

Actually, it is the pre '96 cars that had a crap water pump. Yours being a '96 it's tough to say. As a '96 model year it's possible your car was actually made in '95. Open your door and check the birthdate. If it was made pre 7/96 i would probably change the water pump to be safe (solid preventive maintenance). For more info, check this out for more info...

i also have a 328is 1996 , i just checked the door
and it said 11/ 95 so, my question now is how do i know if the pump
has been changed or not? do i just have to take it in???
