my fan wont work

hi, i was wondering can anyone help me ive just bought a 318is e36, and de fan wont work. but the shaft tht the fan is on is workin any ideas plz???

A faulty clutch if it's driven that way, or a belt issue.

the car drives fine i thought it may have been the fan coupling. i think the guy h
who owned the car had glued the fan to the shaft so it would spin.

I think it should be serviced rightly by someone who knows what parts it needs.

yeah not a lot of info here but sounds like the clutch isn't working

it the viscous fan for the cooling of the engine, the shaft for the fan is spinning but the fan aint its like ders not concected

ok im thick is the coupling fan a short for coupling fan clucth. which dependin on how hot the engine gets closes tigther on the shaft on make the fan spin

Yes.............viscous fan, if you look at the rear of your fan you will see in the middle a splayed star with multiple fins ...thats the clutch....change it and all will be fine.
