I know this has been done but I really want to know what exhaust you have and please give an explanation on why you love it so much.

Bavauto usually deals with high end BMW products. They sell Remus, Scorpion and Bavauto exhausts. I'm pretty sure that either of these 3 would be more than fine.

go to pep-boys get 3 a couples peices of pipe and some clamps and that's all you need to make a straight pipe cat-back that sounds amazing

I love my M3 exhaust on my 325. Its a pretty heavy exhaust but performance and tone on 325 are very impressive.

Stromung is the exhaust i would look into if i were you. Not the cheapest, (Shahab's route may be more cost effective depending on your budget) but it sounds brilliant and havent heard a bad thing about it yet. I know there are video clips of the exhaust on understeer.com in the exhaust section, but you be the decider. Also i would check with the local venders first if i were you to try and see what they have in stock as they often tend to pay thier most attention to forum members, and it's never bad having above average service...

i would go with a straight pipe but my car is a convertable and driving with the top down and that exaust mite be slightly loud?

.... that is what my e30 had 4 awhile..... it isn't to bad... but i could set off car alarms it was so fun.... i suggest Eisenmann... nice note...
