whats wrong!? my car randomly wont do the auto lock. like when i lock the doors, my passenger wont lock and my trunk doesnt. is it a relay or what? anyone else have this problem??? i think im gonna have to bring it into the dealer

my passenger side does that. It's the door lock actuator. I suppose both your passenger door and trunk could both be going at once.

if its sparratic, take it to the dealer.....i dread trying electirical problems by my self

Mine does this as well. When I use the key in the drivers side door all locks EXCEPT the darn passenger door lock.

It is the door lock actuator...BMW was going to charge me like $250 (parts + labor) to change it out....

Bentley has the instructions for both (doors and trunk)...the trunk seems even easier...
I would do it yourself...take the extra money and buy a Bentley...

i agree. its the actuators. check and replace.

sometimes mine just get hung up on something. i will try it with the key but it sticks but this only happens on the passenger side....

OMG i thought i was the only one. I have exactly same problem. I can only unlock my car through the passanger side but that only unlocks the front left and back left doors. I can lock all the doors with the driver side door but not unlock from that door.

It takes 10-15 minutes to do. Had one today....a Z4 convertible with an aftermarket alarm system...
Take it to the dealer!

another thing to check is your door pins arent shot.. if they do the door doesnt close right and thats why the door seems to lock then unlock.
